Flock Services

We offer a variety of services to keep your backyard flock happy and healthy. We have found each one of the services listed below to be an integral part of managing our flock’s safety throughout the year. We know that these tasks can add up to a lot of time as a chicken and duck owner which is why we are here to take some of that work off your hands to help you enjoy more quality time with your pets!

List of Flock Services

  • Hawks, crows, and other critters like to pick up and drop garbage where your flock is likely to find it. We find that 2-3 big sweeps a year is best for our ducks to keep them from accidentally ingesting something that can cause them real harm. Spring is a great time to have a sweep done, as well as any time you’ve had a house project completed, so you can feel secure that those dirt/mud baths are free of debris. We will come over with a 24” magnet sweeper to clear your yard of metal and manually collect any visible non-magnetic garbage.

Scrap metal is brought to a metal recycling facility.

  • You know that feeling when you come back from a camping trip and get that first hot shower and put on a nice set of clothes that aren’t even a little damp? This brings that feeling to your flock! This service includes:

    1) Waste collection/bagging
    2) Deep clean water/food dishes
    3) Inspect/repair minor damages
    4) Nesting box scrub
    5) Your choice of bedding refresh
    6) Before/After photo

We bring our own cleaning supplies but will need access to running water.

  • Whether you are a new backyard fowl owner, someone who has built their own coop, or you’re just looking to ensure your flock is as safe and sound as possible. We offer full coop inspections which includes the following:

    1) Inspection/repair of minor damages
    2) Perimeter predator check
    3) Security evaluation
    4) Square footage analysis
    5) Heat source inspection (if applicable)
    6) Proper ventilation

It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions about any number of things such as how to handle separating ornery fowl, bullying behavior, coop enhancements, and anything else you may have questions on.

  • Just like Santa, we like to get everything wrapped and ready before the winter holidays. Chickens and ducks are fairly cold-hardy animals, but they are still no match for those frigid winter days. Wind is the biggest threat to your flock and a fully-wrapped coop is the best way to combat jack frost (cold breezes, not that snowman that Michael Keaton brought to life).

We will come out and make quick work of your coop, so your chickens and ducks can stay toasty even when that polar vortex comes a knockin’.

  • This includes our ‘winter wrapping’ service as well as a refresh/addition of insulating bedding like straw. We’ll check that your coop/run is properly ventilated and that you have the infrastructure you need to provide food, water, and heat to your flock throughout the coldest temps Minnesota has to offer.
